Can Trex Fencing be cut with a circular saw?

SECLUSIONS

The Trex Fencing composite material can be cut with a regular circular saw using wood-cutting blades. For the aluminum bottom rails, we recommend the use of a nonferrous metal-cutting blade with your circular saw. Many customers elect to use a miter saw when more precise cuts are needed. That is recommended, but not necessarily required. Our Seclusions Installation Guide provides more details in regard to the cuts needed and how to best make those cuts.

HORIZONS

The composite material can be cut with a circular saw and wood-cutting blades. The Horizons metal frame (if you are cutting the powder-coated galvanized steel frames) can be cut with a circular saw using a Diablo ferrous blade ( https://www.diablotools.com/products/D1284CD) or similar. Trex Horizons frames are also available in aluminum as of late 2021, so a non-ferrous blade would be used with this type of frame. Note: after making cuts to the metal components, paint the exposed metal with corrosion-inhibiting spray paint, such as Rust-Oleum Textured Spray Paint. Apply at least two coats and follow any additional instructions from the paint manufacturer. Our Horizons Installation Guide provides more details in regard to the cuts needed and how to best make those cuts.
