Can I paint Trex Fencing?

Yes, you can paint or stain Trex Fencing to achieve a custom color, but it is not necessary for protection.  Like wood, the material is porous and will hold paint.
Use paints and stains that adhere well to exterior wood. Fencing that has been weathered (approximately 12 – 16 weeks for new product) can be painted or stained at any time, even years after it has been installed. Ensure fencing is cleaned properly (see  Care and Cleaning Recommendations) and use a paint or stain that is designed for exterior weather resistant applications. It's a good idea to clean and test a small area before painting the entire fence to see if you get the results you want.  Bear in mind that just like a wood fence, adding paint to the surface of the Trex material will require regular maintenance. With regards to warranty, painting a Trex Fence doesn't necessarily void the warranty but any potential claims would need to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine if the painting has had an adverse effect on the product.
What types of paints and stains can I use?
Most exterior construction paints or stains that you would apply to wood can be applied to Trex Fencing.
