Is Trex toxic?
Trex materials are not toxic to contact and in general, do not present any greater level of toxicity than the raw materials with which the components are made. The plastic and wood materials inside present low toxicity risks and if used properly are perfectly safe for usage as fencing. Normal handling and usage do not present safety problems and the fencing materials would not be considered toxic through exposure during installation or after if safety procedures used for common construction projects are applied (for example, it is recommended that safety glasses be used when cutting any material including Trex). You can review our Technical Resources for more information regarding Trex Fencing in general, including material safety.
