How long does it take to repair Trex Fencing?
How long it takes to repair Trex Fencing depends on the extent of the damage. Replacing a few boards can take as little as 15 minutes.
In the case of a broken picket, the top rail can be unscrewed and removed, allowing you to simply slide the broken picket out of the panel and replace it with a new one. The top rail can then be secured back on top of the pickets. Top rails are even easier to repair, seeing how you need only to unscrew and replace the damaged one with the new one.
More extensive damage will require more time and labor, such as with damaged posts. Similar to wood fence systems, you will need to deconstruct the fence sections on either side of the post, requiring you to remove both of the top rails, pickets, bottom rails, and brackets. Once the post is standing alone, then you can work to dig the post out and replace it. This is obviously harder work. Great news, though, is that Trex posts are sturdy and only rarely need to be replaced. You can count on wood posts to eventually rot or split, and deconstructing the panels themselves can be a pain. Trex posts, on the other hand, do not rot or split, greatly decreasing the likelihood that a post replacement will ever be necessary.
Fence repairs are an unhappy reality of any fence system you go with. However, Trex is considered a low maintenance product, and many customers find Trex Fencing much easier to repair than many other wood fence systems.
