What are the disadvantages of composite fencing?

Composite fencing does tend to run more expensive than it's wood and vinyl counterparts. However, over time, composite fencing will save more time and money over its lifetime. Additionally, composite fencing can weather/fade as it is exposed to UV rays, and material that is made from recycled plastic can get a chalky surface over time. Trex Fencing outshines its composite competition in regard to both of these issues, however. During the manufacturing process, Trex is over-pigmented so that the material fades to its intended color during the weathering process. In regard to composites becoming chalky, the way the plastic material is mixed with the wood protects the finished product, allowing Trex to maintain its durability and integrity over the years.
