How do I stop my Trex fence from wobbling?

If your Trex fence is wobbling, it could be because the posts are not secured. Check to see if the footer is stable by pushing against a post. On a 6' tall fence, there will be a little bit of flexibility in the post, but if the entire post rocks or wobbles, your footer may not be deep enough or it may have been displaced. It may be necessary to dig up the post and reset it or at least dig around it to add more concrete. If the fence post is not wobbling but the pickets are, check to see if the pickets are interlocking and fixed in place with finish nails through the top and bottom rails. Trex is a flexible material, so it will have some movement when you push against it, but it should not feel loose. Use trim head screws or nails to secure the pickets to the rails for additional rigidity.  Our Install Guide goes into more detail concerning tightening up the pickets. Scroll to pages 12 and 13.
